Run with IT

In June of 2005, ICCNS was fortunate to receive funding from Service Canada for their second Information Technology (IT) oriented Job Creation Program project. The “Run With IT” project was completed in June 2006, and included several important objectives that included:

* IT Fairs (north & south) in the Spring of 2006
* Free IT Workshops (public and internal) -
* New Technology Research (Satellite Internet, Wireless Networks, Analog to Digital Media Conversion, Audio and Video Streaming)
* Development of an E-Business Manual CD for distribution to public
* Youth Protégée Program surveying youth on their IT Skills and Businesses on their IT Needs; in order to match up 20 youth with businesses in Summer 2006
* IT Articles, focusing on how to use Information Technology in your daily life -
* Website & Web Advertising Development for not-for-profit and organizations
o Tartan Gardens of Judique
o Port Hood Area Development Society
o The SS Marion Sailing Society of Whycocomagh
o Chestico Museum – Port Hood

This team was led by Project Manager, Bernadette MacDonald, and included five (5) Job Creation Program participants.

There was a lot of challenging work to be done, but this multi-talented team followed in the footsteps of the previous project team and completed their tasks with success and efficiency.
