A Helping Hand
Whycocomagh C@P Site lends a helping hand to raise funds for community member stricken with illness.
In the bayside community of Whycocomagh, the local C@P site donated some of its time, resources and hands in the making of a recipe book – an initiative to raise funds for a local community member in a time of illness. A local girl took on the challenge of creating a recipe book for her ill stricken family member; picking out heartwarming recipes, designing an expressive concealment, choosing genuine messages of hope to enter the book were the essential tasks in taking on such a venture. The C@P site proved to be a vital resource in the community at this time, by providing computer access, free training, and sometimes standing in as a provider of creative ideas for the local girl’s project.
Once the detailing of the recipe book was completed by the local girl, the Whycocomagh C@P Site was then invited to complete the construction of the recipe book by making numerous copies, and aiding in assembly of the book. The C@P Site gladly donated paper, ink, and the use of the new HP Color Laser Jet. After a few weeks of hard work, the recipe books were completed, and a feeling of accomplishment was felt in both the C@P site volunteers, and the local girl who took on such a beautiful project. The recipe books were on sale at a local fundraiser event, and at the Whycocomagh C@P Site, raising funds over $200.00 – truly a great success!
