Lego Robotics

Lego Robotics is a fun way to engage children in science, technology, mathematics and engineering. Children practise mechanical design, construction, and programming and employ teamwork skills while having a great time!

Children create and build the smartest, strongest LEGO Robots using LEGO blocks and interactive motors, sound sensors, ultrasonic visual sensors, touch sensors and light sensors. Motors are plugged into a computer and children configure behaviours using the programming tool. With software, children plan, test and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behaviors.

WE Do Lego

In partnership with Eastern Counties Regional Library, ICCNS will be providing a We-Do-Lego Camp.

Developed as an introduction to robotics,WeDo Robotics fits well into the LEGO robotics continuum that also features the LEGO MINDSTORMS® robotic line. WeDo, which remains connected to the computer at all times, helps create a clear link between the virtual world (computers and programming) and the physical world (represented by LEGO models).

Through the use of icon-based programming software, children quickly and easily learn how to write and download programs to their LEGO creations. The basics of programming, engineering, and constructing are all part of the process.
